MONNICKENDAM – Royal Hakvoort has signed a contract with Fraser Yachts, the British yacht brokerage and chartering company, to build a 65m (213ft) superyacht that will be the builder’s largest project to date.
The interior and exterior will be by Sinot Yacht Design and the naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design, both of the Netherlands. Hakvoort says the delivery is for 2025.
“I am very proud and grateful to start another new build project for a long-standing loyal client,” says Fraser broker Jan Jaap Minnema.
The as-yet-unnamed yacht will feature a large main deck pool, ringed by a lounge, a beach club, a sundeck with a Jacuzzi and a massage room and library on the bridge deck. The yacht can accommodate 14 guests. The yacht will have a beam of 11.6m and a volume of 1,435 GT.
According to Royal Hakvoort co-owner Klaas Hakvoort, the 65m yacht “is another milestone” in his yard’s history.
“The vessel is the largest in size and tonnage ever to be built by our yard. It will guarantee the shipyard work until late 2025 and provide work for around 300 people, either directly employed shipyard or through subcontractors.”
His yard has been in the hands of the Hakvoort family since 1919. In 2020, it received the ‘royal’ designation, a landmark feat for the yard in Monnickendam, a picture-postcard town just north of Amsterdam.
Two other projects are underway at the Royal Hakvoort yard: 61m Project Asia and 45m Project Adur.
