DEN BOSCH – Moonen Yachts has celebrated the launch of its first Moonen 110. The 34m yacht is tangible proof that Australian yard owners Matthew and Louise Baxter succeeded in putting the company on firm footing in 2019.
The couple, passionate about yachts and sailing, has returned Moonen Yachts to a healthy market position thanks to lifelong business expertise and knowledge.
Like all Moonen Yachts, the Moonen-110, says the yard, comes with a two-year, worldwide, unconditional warranty, not a common perk in yacht building. Moonen has been building high-end yachts for more than 40 years Moonen Yachts. It makes premium, semi-custom superyachts of 34 to 50m (110 to 164ft).
The inaugural Moonen 110 is available for €17 million, excl. VAT, “and will be available for delivery on May 31,” said Moonen Commercial Director Victor Caminada.
“The launch, exactly on schedule, marks a proud moment for everyone who has worked on the Moonen 110,” he added. “Her construction has progressed precisely as planned. We’re very happy with her elegant blue hull. She looks perfect in the water.”
The yacht’s exterior design is by Moonen’s long-standing design partner, René van der Velden. It is a new modern interpretation of the yard’s Moonen 84 and Moonen 97 designs.
London-based Studio Indigo completed the interior design, drawing on the vintage 1980 layouts of Moonen yachts to create a modern concept with a subtle nod to Moonen’s heritage. Diana Yacht Design, another strong Dutch yacht building partner, completed the naval architecture and engineering.
The Moonen 110 offers more space and future-proof technology. The large top deck provides ample entertaining space and a 7.5m (25ft) tender. The yacht also has an economical performance consuming only 60 liters (16 US gallons) per hour at 9 knots.
