LELYSTAD – The 2023 In-Water HISWA Boat show reeled in approximately 30,000 visitors. Organizers speak of a “very successful event.” From August 30 to September 3, over 430 small to large boats were moored in Lelystad’s Batavia Marina.
Show Director Arjen Rahusen: “This edition, we paid much attention to the event’s atmosphere. By upgrading the decorations and catering, along with more suppliers of lifestyle products other than boats, the fair became interesting for an even wider audience.”
He added that the show attracted people who still see the In-Water Hiswa as a source of inspiration and information about water sports.”
The next In-Water show is again scheduled for August 28 – September 1, 2024, in Lelystad.
The 2023 show was held in the Batavia Marina of Lelystad, in the heart of Holland. It showed a wide range of boats from 1.75m to over 20m.

Sustainability was a dominant theme as boat production and propulsion were undergoing significant changes, driven by the need to make boating greener. In the Netherlands, the authorities are increasingly banning fossil-fuel boats from waterways.
Several boats displayed were produced with a 3D printer from recycled materials.
World firsts included the Woodler 28, a 9m luxury tender by Shipyard De Jong and the venerable Vripack Design and Engineering studio. The tender has an underwater aluminum hull and, an above-the-waterline hull and interior of mahogany. It won a Boat of the Year award for tender innovation at the show.

The Saffier 24 won a Boat of the Year award in the sailboat category for innovative thinking about onboard power use. There is no onboard power as all instruments are charged at home. Solar foredeck panels charge the electric drive.
The Dutch Motorboat of the Year was the Super Lauwersmeer 54, a yacht an international jury named European Powerboat of the Year 2023 at boot Düsseldorf last January.
At Lelystad, the judges called it a “pocket superyacht in technology and design. A quiet, fast and powerful yacht with an innovative design and special technology.”
