SCHEVENINGEN – Spring signals new life, it is said, and nowhere is that more evident in 2023 than in the offices of Studio Delta in this North Sea resort.
It provides naval architecture, project consultancy and technical services for yachts starting in the concept stage, both new builds and refits. Overlooking the port of Scheveningen, and the North Sea beyond it, Studio Delta has been a significant factor for over 20 years in the Netherlands’ high-end yacht-building industry.
Managing Director Menno van Dijk has a staff “with specific knowledge in naval architecture, structural design and engineering,” he says. He just lifted the tip of the veil on four yachts bearing Studio Delta’s hallmark that will be introduced in 2023. “During the remainder of the year, you’ll see more launches,” he says.

The 15.3m Van den Hoven Voyager 50 has, in fact, already been delivered. Van Dijk: “She handles well and easily reaches her design speed. Hull #2 is already under construction, and hull no.3 is in pre-preparation. With the Voyager 50, Van den Hoven Jachtbouw enters a new market. Younger owners, awed by sporty looks.”
The 19.6m aluminum Van der Valk EDGE 65: Hull #1 has been out for the first time after a relatively short building period. Visible is the Petestep hull that improves performance and seakeeping. Trials are scheduled for March. “We look forward to seeing this 40+ knots outboard driven yacht on the water,” says Van Dijk.
The 14m Azure 45 of Bekkers Yachts (top foto): The launch is scheduled for this month. A newcomer to the yachting sector, Bekkers Yachts shows a new direction by incorporating many superyacht concepts in the 45ft model. The aluminum Azure 45 makes for a proper weekender. Anticipated speeds will be up to 30 knots. The launch is scheduled for this month.
The 14m Vanton 45 cabin cruiser: Another newcomer in high-end yachting. Vanton Yachts (founded in 2021) markets high-quality motor yachts of up to 50ft (15ft). The 45ft is a steel semi-displacement, Quicksteel yacht, complemented with a Hull Vane.
