THE HAGUE – Menno van Dijk, owner of the Studio Delta naval architecture here, finds himself in a “unique situation.” Three nominees for European Powerboat of 2024 awards come off his company’s boards.
“All three Dutch entries are projects we were involved in,” he says. “That makes us very proud! We wish all three nominees the best of luck!” The award winners will be announced at the Boot Duesseldorf Show in January, the world’s largest indoor boat show. The three Studio Delta nominees are:
The 15m Steeler Trans-Atlantic 50S, is a motor yacht equipped with an automated kite system to boost its range that already spans 3,000 miles. The kite alone can give the yacht a speed of 5 knots on average. The 50 TA has a steel semi-displacement hull that achieves speeds up to 15 knots. The Steeler Yacht is nominated in the Long-Range category. It has virtually unlimited inland destinations and a transatlantic range that is supported by an integrated Wing Kite system.-
Vanton 45 CC - The 14m Vanton 45 CC, entered the market in 2023 as a new concept for a steel-hulled 45 ft semi-displacement motor yacht. Its full-beam main salon equals that of a 60ft (18m) yacht. The well-designed concept lends itself for safe open water sailing, aided by a Hull Vane underwater transom foil for comfort and improved efficiency at higher speeds. The Vanton 45 Cabin Cruiser offers the most interior space in its class, with low consumption and a maximum speed of 17 knots.
The Edorado 85 is the epitome of the dedication of Godert van Hardenbroek, the CEO of Edorado Marine, to sustainable boating. He introduced the foiled yacht at the Cannes Yachting Festival. It is available with hybrid propulsion or electric. Studio Delta says its input “in this extraordinary yacht was less extensive than we normally see in our portfolio.
